Thanks for all the help in the end i ended setting up a old p4 running
linux to be a file/media hub ..altho in the future i'll probably invest in
the dlink 323
i have a few friends who use them and have heard nothing but good reviews so
far..
thanks for the suggestions and also clearing up some misconceptions i'v
heard about ext2
