[clug-talk] eeepc on skype

Thanx Jesse. That simple fix got the camera working on cheese and I assume
that this fix will get it working on skype automaticly.

Quick question for all you gu ru's      im running easy peasy on my eeepc
701.  I worked on getting skype to work on it and with reading afew
fifferent sites on the net I have it working on voice only and that isn't
the greatest for quality. ( I will try again with a headset  )  but I cant
het the video working. I tried cheese and no way. It says no camra. Do I
need to turn it on on command line?? If so, what is the command and if
anyone knows what else I can do than please let me know. Or if someone knows
what to tweek for better sound would be appreciated. ( or is gaim better and
can I call a skype number?? )

Do you need more than one?  Your Freerunner (or is it the 1973?) has
GPS and a (micro) SD card slot, right?

Yep, but it kills the battery real fast and not all of the various 
"distros" for it include GPS tracking tools.

But, I had totally forgotten about that, and it will probably suffice 
for my initial needs.  Thanks.

BTW, it's the Freerunner.

Did you ever do that order for HVW?  I might be convinced into getting a
GPS module for my robot.  I mean it's going to be able to see, so it may
as well be able to read a map :)

Assuming you are in a vehicle and can plug it in, it wouldn't be too
bad.  If you're walking around with it all the time, then you might
have a problem (can you turn off the cell phone part to save power?)

There is an option for turning the camera on in the BIOS if the OS doesn't
do it automatically. Give that a try before proceeding further,
