With news that the federal government is introducing legislation that would
make it easier for big brother to spy on Internet users (
http://yro.slashdot.org/story/09/06/18/2043242/Proposed-Canadian-Law-Would-Allow-Warrantless-Searches),
I'm trying to put together a list of open source software that can be used
to thwart this invasion of privacy on the part of the government. So far
I've got GnuPG (http://www.gnupg.org/) for e-mail/file encryption, as well
as Tor (http://www.torproject.org/) for anonymous web surfing. Can the group
recommend any other pieces of software that helps preserve privacy on the
Internet?
Thanks,
Jesse
