This is normal (for cable) and there is nothing you can do about it. I
just ignore that light since it does not tell me anything useful about
my connection (unless it is dark, then I usually have to call Shaw).
There is also nothing inherently bad in this either.

Disable bonjour, on some non-mac platforms it is sometimes called
zeroconf, you may also have some individual pieces called multicast-DNS
(mDNS) as well as other "serverless" communication packages.
Fortunately you do not have to worry about it most of the time.
