As a past Bell customer, I abandoned them after they dropped my calls
numerous times, and then when I called to inquire about it they pretty
much told me I was imagining things. Granted I'm in a newer area of the
city, but the basic service (I don't use a data plan yet) and the
customer service both were less than acceptable. For me at least.
I'm on Rogers now and am more or less happy with them (in comparison to
Bell). Telus lost my business years ago and will never get it back -
simply due to poor customer service policies (i.e. it's YOUR computer
that is at fault, when I can prove routing fails on THEIR routers, etc.
- their internet and cell support both suck the same).
I have high hopes for Wind, but will wait for a while to see how well
they are received.
For Internet, I've been using SHAW's SOHO package for many years and
have only seen a couple of outages (someone hit a telephone pole in one
case, another was a problem in Lethbridge that took out Shaw's southern
Alberta's internet access). Both were fixed quickly.
