With VirtualBox and other fine VM programs, these days it seems more
like a choice between which is easier to use as a guest VM. Since I
really only use Windows for Microsoft Bob, it's easier for me to just
keep it tucked away as a VM.

Greg is correct in that the closed nature of Windows works against it,
and over time they become harder to maintain (though one could argue
it's a pain in the butt to maintain an old Red Hat Linux 9 box, too).
Gustin is correct in that maintenance will be necessary on any machine
you run, regardless of OS. It just so happens that I prefer Linux, and
it's easier for /me/ to maintain. YMMV with any OS, depending on your
circumstances ("What?! The president of CLUG is saying that he doesn't
hate Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, etc.?!").

/End of rant

See you all at tonight's meeting :-D
