You may need to bounce the cable modem when you switch over.
I've been told by Shaw that I have 2 IP addresses. Apparently the cable
modem only learns the MAC address when it boots and initially connects
to your computer/firewall/whatever. If you reboot your computer and you
use the same network card, the MAC hasn't changed and everything is
fine. If you switch to a different device then the MAC has changed and
it may get ignored.
