[Clug-tech] Firefox performance issues when a firewall is enabled

Plugins?  I know that Adblock Plus does a query against an external 
server periodically - your firewall rules may be interferring with that. 
  (I just noticed your not about the extensions being disabled.... so...)

DNS - I have seen sporadic problems with DNS that would slow down my 
whole network.  Things like taking 30+ seconds to resolve names for 
things like google analytics.  At the time I was convinced my DNS was 
set up right but later investigation revealed a couple of little 
glitches.  I resolved this by pointing everything on my network to my 
own DNS server - after someone told me I didn't need the "forwarders" 
set up.
