Hey gustin, thanx for the help. I had already installed a copy of the
studioubuntu before I received your reply and am already loading my music
and pictures into folders. Im anticipating a great product!! I now need to
learn how to work with the programs to make a nice home dvd and also doing a
15 minute Christmas ditty for work aswell so we will see how it go's. what
is it you do with the music side of it? I noticed the tail end of your
e-mail address (echostar)and don't know if you work with music or something?
Also, when is the next I guess installfest? I think that im already quite
fluid with the installing thing and am in process of learning more about the
terminal and command line. Even spent some money getting books and in future
will also buy some training cd's. any suggestions??
Have a great Weekend and thanx for the help.
Just another quick question on my eeepc. How do I properly format my sd
card. What are the commands in the term box??

The performance of virtual box (or any other solution that requires a
full blown copy of Windows to be running) will leave much to be desired.

As far as I understand it, there are some great programs for this. This
is not my thing so I am not the best person to ask. I know that there
some people doing this sort of thing, so I am pretty sure it is doable.
Again, don't take my word for it.
On the other hand, audio and music is my bag, and I can tell you that
there are tons of applications that taken together, far exceed what I
can do under windows.

You do not need to replace your current install, they can be a part of
your regular Ubuntu install (essentially layering on top). Stop
thinking like a Windows or Mac user :)
Their site details this procedure.
