Well one thing I already noticeed is that there's a million ways to do everything with blackberries. Like I can get my gmail direct to my device with bis or I can use the application from google. Or I can forward it to my blackberry mail address. The possibilities are staggering. I'm astonished such a popular device is so open source friendly. Impressive
Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry

What I do is to install the google sync app on my balckberry. I then
have my Thunderbird sync contacts to google (via the Zindus plugin) and
events (via the lightening and provider addons). My Blackberry is now
synchronized with my laptop and two desktops. Actually they are all in
sync with each other this way.

You can also set up your phone to be managed by Amarok by setting up the
generic audio device. Amarok copies the artwork and music to the phone,
also my podcasts are automatically queued up, which is the next best
thing to an OTA (over the air) podcatcher.

There are actually some good Linux for manipulating and tethering your
blackberry.
