[Clug-tech] Update frequency of Shaw DNS?

That doesn't solve the problem of letting the general public - including
Shaw Internet users - see the domain name/change in a timely fashion.
When I can make a change to my DNS records at ZoneEdit.com, and see
those changes in 15 minutes to an hour, well, there is no reason Shaw's
DNS servers can't do the same. But instead, I end up getting reports
from people as much as 3 days, or a week later saying they are getting
"name not found" errors. This indicates that not only is the Shaw DNS
servers not updating themselves in a timely manner, but also that
unknown names are NOT getting passed through to the root servers
properly either. In short, Shaw DNS servers are not configured in an
"industry standard" manner. I can understand the volume issues they
need to deal with, but how come everyone else can get it right?
I posted a blog about Shaw's DNS servers once titled "Shaw DNS Servers
suck" (http://grover.open2space.com/node/63 if anyone wants to check it
out... but it was more a rant about a specific issue I ran into). For
about a year it was the #1 response from Google when searching for "Shaw
DNS". Heck, I just checked, and it's at # 3 - 3 years after the fact...
My thoughts....

(ps. I do apologize for the links to my own blog in my last few
posts... but the topics seemed fitting....)
