The nVIdia release is at 180.22 now.  Works much better with a 2.6.28
kernel and plays nicer with KDE4.

- From the console all you needed to do (for future reference)

sudo modprobe nvidia
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

Of course replace gdm with kdm if you are using that as your login
manager (Kubuntu does by default).
