One other question - what make and model is your laptop?

For the record I have an Intel desktop mobo with a x3220 (xeon version 
of a q6600 consumer cpu) that has vt-x support. My foray into vm land is 
limited to xen on centos 5.
To now I have not used VirtualBox but will do so as you recommend.
