Hello All.
I have just Installed ubuntu 9.10 on my older Compaq evo desktop. Its about
2.8 gig with about 700 and some meg ram, 40g hdd. Its one of these units
that memory express was selling for $ 120.00 or so. Anyway, I tried to load
ubuntu 9.1 on it before but got nothing but a black screen. This time I
tried again but saw at the bottom a few options and I believe clicked option
F4 giving me some options for video. I went with basic video driver and its
working!! How do I get the display greater than 800x600 and to keep the
current video driver or at least a video driver that works to stay even
after a update? Sometimes after a update I was back at a black screen and
it was obviously something that changed in the update. How do I fix this and
keep it from happening in the future and better resolution as well??
Thanx in advance.
Dan
